The Maintenance Services Manager is responsible for leading the Site Reliability Program and is focused on the development of effective maintenance strategies which improve the reliability and uptime of the process.

We are seeking a skilled technical leader to join our team for leading the Site Reliability Program and is focused on the development of effective maintenance strategies which improve the reliability and uptime of the process. The Maintenance Services Manager will lead a team of Reliability Engineers, Process Engineers, Automation Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Calibration Technicians to drive improved Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) metrics and process cycle-times.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test electrical equipment and systems

  • Develop and maintain a high-performing maintenance team through effective leadership, coaching, and mentorship.

  • Develop the technical knowledge and capability of the Engineering & Maintenance teams to maximize the reliability of plant and processes

  • Drive performance within the teams by setting SMART objectives and monitor progress by carrying out individual performance appraisals.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, leveraging advanced technologies and data analysis to anticipate and address equipment issues.

  • Participates and provides subject matter input for capital projects and problem-solving activities.

  • Lead the Calibration team to maintain equipment in validated state to support production schedule

  • Measure and optimize system performance

  • Leads the Automation team to deliver new and improved systems to the facility

  • Collaborate with project engineers to maintain and ensure the reliability of new equipment or modified assets and installations

  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations on short notice and may be required to be on call outside of regular working hours

Core

Subject Matter Expert for all Reliability, Electrical, Calibration, Controls and Instrumentation on systems including but not limited to:

  • Water Systems / Refrigeration / HVAC systems

  • Process & Packaging Equipment’s

  • Technical support and point of contact/escalation.

  • Decision makers for determining the investment and maintenance plan for the long-term reliability of all assets.

  • Responsible for ensuring performance objectives are aligned with the site master plan.

  • Familiarity with building automation systems

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Identify cost-savings opportunities without compromising quality and reliability of electrical systems.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the annual Service Dept budget, providing regular updates to senior management on budget performance.

  • Work closely with the Contract Manager & Procurement team to negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers.

Training

  • Creating, Reviewing, Updating SOPs

  • Develop and deliver Technical Training

  • Maintain all regulatory and non-regulatory documentary records, including training folders, equipment logbooks, & calibration records

Planning

  • Ensuring Work Orders have valuable detail for asset history

  • Manage projects for scope, schedule, and cost

  • Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications and are delivered as required

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze repairs and maintenance requirements to proactively address system weaknesses to build reliability and robustness into the control systems.

  • Managing and providing technical support to change controls.

  • Assisting in all aspects of projects, including design work and approvals.

  • Supports capital improvement project work.

  • Support the foundation of an equipment history, using Failure Mode language in all trouble-shooting guides.

Health & Safety

  • Follow the Health & Safety policy and guidelines.

  • Support with the development of Engineering Safety standards

Managerial/Supervisory

  • Provide direction to the team as well as support and motivation.

  • The ability to make confident and informed decisions.

  • Strategically distributing tasks, responsibilities and projects across the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years applicable experience. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools

  • Prior experience in the design, programming, start-up, or troubleshooting of industrial control systems, such as motion/servo controllers, variable frequency drives, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, SQL databases and reports, industrial communication networks, process instrumentation, and up to 480V electrical control equipment.

  • Familiarity with system qualification, such as FAT/SAT, commissioning, and IQ/OQ validation.

  • Advanced experience in MS Office® including MS Excel® charts and graphs required.

  • A willingness to work weekends and holidays when operating conditions are required.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily light in nature, with exerting up to 25lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, bending, stooping, and walking. Involves sitting, standing, and walking most of the time.

Travel

As required to center sites, up to 10% to Kedrion locations, regional meetings and company sponsored functions including overnight travel.
