Description

Jackie Meza with Robert Half is on the hunt for a conscientious Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Merced, California. The role involves managing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports, and establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the general ledger.

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Manage the preparation of budget forecasts.

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable and receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.

• Collaborate with Financial Reporting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

• Coordinate and complete annual audits.

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.

• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Requirements • Must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in a managerial position in accounting or a related field is essential

• Proficient in cost accounting and general ledger management

• Demonstrated ability to manage month end and year end closings

• Experience in handling journal entries is required

• Must be skilled in budgeting and financial reporting

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Must adhere to high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality

• Must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial management principles

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
