As Assistant Manager of Distribution Center ("DC"), Merrill facility, this position will oversee the daily operations of the distribution center, ensuring efficient and accurate shipping and receiving functions; will be responsible for managing inventory control, productivity programs, and training new / existing employees. This position will also investigate operational issues and collaborate with the MIS department to maintain optimal performance.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

· Oversee the complete operational functions of the Merrill, WI DC shipping and receiving departments.

· Assign and manage departmental job activities, including cooler rotation, repacks, vendor deliveries, shipments, and interplant transfers.

· Ensures accuracy of all shipping and receiving functions.

· Ensure compliance with company rules and adherence to various federal/state/company regulations such as GMP, Quality, OSHA, and AIB specifications.

· Maintains accurate receiving and inventory records, as well as procedures for all vendor deliveries.

· Performs audits and analysis, submitting adjustments and verifications to management and the controller’s office.

· Conduct monthly inventories, reconciling and reporting findings to management.

· Coordinate floor operations with production, packaging, and purchasing departments for efficient workflow.

· Monitor and manage pallet inventory and submit weekly overtime reports with explanations.

· Implement and manage productivity programs, setting departmental and individual goals.

· Minimal travel and/or extended work hours may be required.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education & Experience

· Associate degree or five years of equivalent experience required.

· Work experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.

· A minimum of three years supervisory or leadership experience.

· Work experience in a food industry environment is ideal.

Skills / Abilities

· Perishable and dry goods warehouse experience preferred.

· Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

· Proficient in operating a computer system and program(s).

· Inventory control, cycle counts, and FIFO system knowledge is preferred.

· Proficient knowledge of distribution activities.

· The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible, and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail.

· Must be capable of working independently in adherence to various regulations and/or company policies.

· Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, with objectivity.

· Personal qualities of tack, dependability, and ability to work well with others.
