Are you an experienced leader in construction management who has successfully worked within the A&D ( Architectural and Design) community and have a desire to combine that background with an entrepreneurial operational excellence and business development role? A role where you would lead regional strategy and customer excellence initiatives for two successful operations prepared and eager for growth. If so, then our unique role might just be for you!

ASSA ABLOY Door Group is looking to add a Regional Operations Director (our internal title is Head of Hollow Metal) to our team for the Central Region. This position will be based onsite out of our regional manufacturing facility or Service Center located in Mesquite, Texas. This is a newly created role that will report directly to the President of our Group.

What would you do as our Head of Hollow Metal for the Central Region?

You’ll invest the largest portion of your time in two areas:

  • Working with the leadership of the Door Group companies located in your region and the leadership of our national brand factories to drive the operational performance required to meet the needs of our customers, improve customer satisfaction and drive growth in the region.

  • Playing a leading role in the business development within the region , which will involve working with the Door Group leadership and Door Security Solutions (DSS) Regional leadership to define the strategy for the region and create polices, programs and initiatives that will drive the sales of doors and frames.You will also maintain high touch points with customers to improve their experience.

    You would also:

  • Drive accountability for both operational targets and business results within your region by working with the leadership team.

  • Partner with Group management and leadership to ensure best in class service for our customers and the development of our national brands .

  • Partner with the DSS (Door Security Solutions) leadership in your region to develop and support sales strategies to meet growth objectives .

  • Work with DSS, regional specialists and pricing teams to ensure that we are offering the best solutions for projects in the region .

  • Work with our branding and pricing teams to best utilize our portfolio and ensure the correct positioning and competitiveness in the region .

  • Identify strategic investment opportunities and product development opportunities presenting a business case for moving forward .

  • Make recommendations for strengthening the regional focus of our support selling teams .

  • Maintain an approach with a lean and operational excellence focus .

  • Drive the continuous implementation of LEAN practices by mentoring and developing site leaders, enhancing processes, and boosting overall company performance.

  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned .

  • Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to OSHA and ASSA ABLOY standards .

  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

    The Skills and Experience you need :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ of years of experience in the architectural/construction, door or door hardware arena, or related industry

  • 7+ years of experience in an operations management role with responsibility for directing a staff

  • Proven record in business planning and analysis, business development and continuous improvement

  • Previous acquisition experience a plus

  • Excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving, and follow-up skills needed, as well as a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
