JOB REQUIREMENTS: Hotel:Madison Marriott Banquets/Events Captain Full time Atrium SPIRIT - where teamwork, passion and appreciation ignite service excellence Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the Banquet Captain is to provide guests with an excellent banquet experience, by planning and implementing the serving details for the event. Work Performed: TheBanquet Captainwill be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: Guide, direct, and motivate banquetstaff; Direct set up for tables correctly and uniformly in assigned areausingclean pressed linen, clean unspotted silverware, clean china with no chips or cracks, clean unspottedglassware; Confirm the table complements (salt, pepper, sugar, breadbaskets, etc.) have been properly cleaned andfilled; Plan the serving order and orchestrate its completion in a timely, quiet and courteousmanner; Ensure the servers are ready to serve the meal when itsprepared; Set-up, serve and/or break down coffee breaks, receptions, other special functions asassigned; Maintain communication with the guest contact person for guestneeds; Ableto perform job of Banquet Associate and BanquetBartender; Assist Banquet Manager orAll PurposeManager with scheduling, training staff, and inventory; Ensure service standards are being followed and takes corrective action when they arenot; Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents,injuriesand unsafe work conditions to management;and Any and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position. Required Experience: Six months of banquet and event food service experience Previous customer service experience Preferred Experience: Hospitality Event experience Prior leadership experience Required Licenses/ Certification: Food Safety certificate or complete training during initial 90 days. Alcohol certification or complete training during initial 90 days. Physical: Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
