The Assistant Director, Engagement will work collaboratively to support high-end and broad-based programming and volunteer opportunities. This position serves to enhance relationships with some of the university\'s most influential benefactors through thoughtful and creative execution of engagement programming and volunteer meetings in conjunction with university partners. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Programming and event planning Plan and execute programming that instills pride and inspires philanthropic support of the university Provide programmatic and administrative support for high-end and broad-based programs and initiatives, as well as affinity, college and regional events Create new programming to align with university priorities. Sustain willingness to adapt and demonstrate flexibility around events and offerings Additional programmatic responsibilities include invitation design and list development, promotion planning and implementation, program/meeting ideation and management of event/meeting speakers, coordinating event/meeting logistics directly or in conjunction with campus partners, preparing materials to staff university leaders, staffing events/meetings (including travel where relevant) and coordinating post-event/meeting follow-up Collaborate on, staff and assist with events when necessary willingness to travel and work evening and weekend hours Integrate university messages and align university priorities through event/meeting programming For a full list of duties and responsibilities, please see Marquette University\'s employment page It is the policy of Marquette University to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other applicable federal or state-protected classification. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university in Communication, Marketing or related field is required. Minimum of 4 years of event planning, high-level staffing a d volunteer management experience A proven track record of strategic, entrepreneurial and creative success. The demonstrated ability to thrive in a culture that is results-oriented and fast paced and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships across a complex organization is needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Budget oversight and management skills are essential. Commitment to Marquette\'s character as an urban institution, its goals, mission, and Jesuit Catholic tradition is needed. The ability to travel; evening and weekend hours required.
