Robert Half Insurance Intake & Authorization Coordinator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Description We are offering a role within the insurance industry, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The position involves coordinating insurance authorizations and functioning as a temporary intake specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring patients receive timely and accurate coverage information for their insurance, Medicaid, and commercial products.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently verify patient insurance coverage using various insurance portals and databases

• Assess and confirm the benefits available under different insurance plans, including Medicaid and commercial insurance products

• Obtain necessary pre-authorizations for procedures and treatments as required by insurance companies

• Accurately document all verification and authorization activities in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) system

• Liaise with insurance companies, Medicaid offices, and patients to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to coverage and benefits

• Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and policies

• Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient intake and authorization processes

• Proactively address and resolve any challenges related to insurance verification and authorizations

• Utilize skills in MEDITECH, Microsoft Excel, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, Customer Service, Documentation, Medicaid, Health Care Audits - Medicare - Medicaid, Medicaid Billing, Medicaid Claim, HealthCare Billing, HealthCare Insurance for efficient execution of duties. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Insurance Authorization Coordinator role or similar position

• Proficiency in using MEDITECH software

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• In-depth understanding of Benefit Functions and Billing Functions

• Experience in Claim Administration

• Excellent Customer Service skills

• Ability to create clear and concise Documentation

• Knowledge of Medicaid procedures and regulations

• Experience with Health Care Audits, specifically related to Medicare and Medicaid

• Familiarity with Medicaid Billing and Medicaid Claim processes

• Previous experience in HealthCare Billing and HealthCare Insurance

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
