Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Coordinator, Admissions & Financial Aid - NYU Long Island School of Medicine - Mineola.In this role, the successful candidate is an integral member of the office of admissions and financial aid team, the admissions coordinator works closely with the senior coordinator, manager, and associate dean in organizing the daily operations and implementing established policies and procedures for all aspects of the undergraduate medical education admissions program including planning and managing admissions activities, events and workshops. Often serving as the first point of contact, the admissions coordinator engages with a wide range of program stakeholders including applicants, current students, medical school senior leadership and faculty, admissions committee members, administrative staff, community members, and outside vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. In conjunction with and supervision of the senior admissions coordinator, conducts daily operational and administrative activities for the office of admissions & financial aid
    2. Supports associate dean and manager for admissions & financial aid in the administrative and operational implementation and oversight of all aspects of medical school admissions and financial aid program
    3. Regularly interfaces with a wide-range of constituents including medical school applicants, interviewers, senior medical school leadership, faculty, current medical students, administrative and support staff, community stakeholders and outside venders
    4. Performance of day-to-day operational and administrative tasks such as but not limited to:
      • Compiles and communicates responses to inquiries from applicants interpreting admissions requirements and policies
      • Coordinates all on-site and remote logistics pertaining to interview day program including scheduling of applicants and interviewers; coordinating/staffing pre-interview day 'meet & greet' sessions between current medical students & applicants; interviewer computer set-ups, interviewer scoring documentation and informational binders as well as refreshment set-up and parking arrangements; dissemination of post-interview survey and tracking of survey results
      • Provides administrative support for bi-weekly executive admissions committee meetings including maintaining meeting minutes
      • Assistswith coordination and implementation of admissions-related diversity and inclusion initiatives and other recruitment programs including the re-visit program for accepted applicants.
      • Assists with processing applications, preparing transcripts, ensuring collection of legal documentation, completing health forms and ensuring all supporting application documentation is in compliance with matriculation requirements
      • Maintains tracking database of accepted students and required documentation in advance of matriculation
      • Provides administrative support in the preparation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the admissions and financial aid process including medical school accreditation and regulatory reporting requirements
      • Assists with the management of the School of Medicine Instagram account including the development and creation of content per NYU Langone Health System guidelines
      • Ensures predetermined departmental timelines, processes, and workflows are followed
      • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of admissions requirements, selection criteria, timelines and deadlines in the admissions process and admissions committees rosters and meeting schedule
      • Orders all supplies and coordination of maintenance requests pertaining to the office of admissions suite to ensure efficient running of program
      • Coordinates and makes necessary adjustments to accommodate unexpected changes to student and management schedules or processes
    5. Performs all other duties as assigned and deemed necessary for the smooth, uninterrupted operation of the admissions and financial aid program

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Degree:
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience:
2 - 3 years progressive responsibility and experience in college/educational student or financial aid services or related customer service or finance experience
2 - 3 years progressive project coordination experience
Skills:
Solid written and oral communication skills and, strong customer service skills and ability to represent NYULISOM and the Office of Admissions to all prospective students.
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote and Outlook

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $71,020.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
