Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team in the capacity of an Accounts Receivable Clerk. This role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and falls within the service industry. The position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Your primary responsibilities will include processing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving credit inquiries. Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner • Maintain comprehensive and accurate customer credit records • Resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally • Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary action to collect delinquent payments • Process invoices received electronically and manually entered invoices • Consolidate vendor invoices for client billing • Manage client-specific payment terms and apply cash application techniques • Contact clients regarding past due invoices and complete account analysis for each client • Meet and communicate with direct supervisor regarding processing issues related to invoicing client/paying suppliers and open issues • Identify and resolve open issues, ensuring clear communication with account representatives. Requirements • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in accounting, finance or a related field is a plus

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory

• Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (JDE or other full-scale ER software)

• Proficiency in English and in Microsoft Office

• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to accounts receivable

• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team setting

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
