Fairview Health Services Clinical Education Specialist - RN in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Are you a Registered Nurse with the Minnesota Board of Nursing? Do you have at least 3 years of nursing experience? We at MHealth Fairview are looking for you to join our Kasota team located in Minneapolis! This benefits position is a 1.0FTE (80 hours/2 weeks) on the day shift.

The Clinical Education Specialist (CES) improves the professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competence and growth with the intention of improving population health through indirect care.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive clinical education programs for nursing staff, including orientation, ongoing training, and competency assessments.

  • Create and update training materials, patient euducation, and protocols to ensure compliance with current best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide hands-on training and support to nursing staff in the administration of infusion therapies in the home setting.

  • Learning facilitator. The CES uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge the knowledge, skills, and/or practice gaps identified through learning needs assessment and evaluation of outcomes, including the development of initial and ongoing competency validation processes.

  • Change agent. The CES actively works to transform processes at micro, meso, and/or macro system levels. The CES uses change management strategies and theories to drive desired outcomes.

  • Mentor. The CES advances the profession by contributing to the professional development of others and supporting ongoing professional learning as individuals develop across practice, professional, and educational settings.

  • Leader. The CES influences and advocates for interprofessional practice and learning environments, the education specialty, the profession of nursing, and healthcare.

  • Champion for inquiry. The CES promotes a spirit of inquiry, the generation and dissemination of new knowledge, and the use of evidence to advance clinical education, guide clinical practice, and improve the quality of care for the patient, family, and/or community (the health care consumer/partner).

  • Advocate for Nursing Specialty . The CES actively supports, promotes, and demonstrates nursing professional development within a nursing practice specialty, including the promotion of nursing certification.

  • Partner for practice transitions. The CES supports the transition of nurses and allied nursing staff across practice and learning environments, roles, and professional stages.

  • Collaborator. The CES supports and partners with nursing practice professionals, nursing operations, and other stakeholders with the shared goal of achieving the organization’s mission and vision.

Qualifications

Required

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

3 or more years of nursing experience

2 years recent RN experience in acute care, home care, hospice, or long-term care

License/Certification/Registration

Current MN RN License

BLS certification

Required Life Support by Clinical Grouping:

ED: PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, as specified by the hospital

Preferred

Education

Master’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field

Experience

1 or more years education experience

License/Certification/Registration

Recognized ANCC certification in Nursing Specialty aligned to your area of practice

ANPD Certification

Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time)
