Fairview Health Services Complex Scheduling Coordinator in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Centers provide innovative, comprehensive and interdisciplinary care for women. As the only Maternal-Fetal specialists in the region associated with an academic medical center, our specialists bring their own expertise as well as collaboration with neonatologists, geneticists and other University of Minnesota Health specialists to provide the highest level of care for women and their babies — from preconception to post-partum.

This position is 80 hours per pay period, benefit eligiable, Monday thru Friday no weekends.

The position will be working at the following sites: University of Minnesota Medical Center (West Bank) in Minneapolis, Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville and St. John's Hospital in Maplewood.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for serving patients, providers, and staff in facilitating access to services, tests, procedures, etc. at the direction of the care provider. The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to patient activity and performs registration and scheduling functions, as well as other clerical functions that meet the needs of scheduling.

  • Coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to scheduling of services

  • Performs appropriate registration and scheduling functions via computer systems, including initial entry of demographic information, insurance information, referring physician data and exam information.

  • Schedules services such as tests, procedures, follow-up visits and any other services the patient may require as taken from Doctor’s orders.

  • Responsible for answering of multiple telephone lines and taking care of the caller’s needs quickly and correctly.

  • Participates actively in department problem solving, coordinating patient schedules for multiple disciplines.

  • Requests guidance and approval as needed.

  • Seeks out solutions to time conflicts directly through parties involved, area managers, and other available resources

  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education: Vocational/Technical training or Associates Degree

  • Preferred Experience: One to Three Years
