Apply for Job Job ID361649 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Support Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8352P1 Employee ClassCivil Service Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Researcher in Food Analytical Chemistry Appointment: Operations Manager in PPIC Class: Civil Service Job code: Term: 100% position Program Area: Protein Chemistry and Analysis Office Location: St. Paul Campus Supervisor: Prof. Pam Ismail Responsibilities: Design and execute scientific experiments to support research group in analytical chemistry involving protein and various metabolites (15%) Prepare and run experiments on various instruments and research equipment (15%) Support and run lab-scale extrusion trials of protein ingredients for research team (10%) Perform pilot plant production of protein ingredients (10%) Operate and maintain lab equipment such as HPLC, GC, and MS (10%) Operate and maintain a Nitrogen Analyzer (10%) Train graduate and undergraduate students on lab equipment, procedures and analysis (5%) Perform data and statistical analysis, interpret and summarize results, maintain study database and accurate date entry(5%) Maintain equipment, ensure compliance with safety, and regulatory reporting requirements (5%) Conduct background literature search on relevant topics (5%) Locate and obtain new equipment/instrumentation through university resources, donations, or discounts (5%) Keep detailed records of all experiments in laboratory notebooks, databases, spreadsheets and web-based applications (5%) Program/Unit Description: Position will be in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, CFANS, University of Minnesota under the supervision of Dr. Pam Ismail.
