Provides oversight for systems and work structures designed to ensure the highest levels of operational efficiency, quality and customer experience. Executes strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality and effectiveness across teams. Collaborates with other senior leaders to strengthen partnerships and understand operational processes and areas for improvement. This position can be remote (US) or hybrid. #LI-Remote #LI-Hybrid.Check out our video Saving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:Leadership:Provide leadership, coaching and development opportunities to direct reports.Lead complex projects and initiatives to deliver on key targets across operations.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and tools that can drive operational excellence. Evaluate their potential impact on the organization and lead initiative to adopt and integrate them effectively.Facilitate NMDP technical efforts in the development, design and support of software applications and platforms related to internal operations and external customers through collaboration and partnership with Product Management and IT.Recommend and execute strategies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across operational teams. Conduct regular reviews to assess progress towards operational excellence goals.Lead change management efforts to drive organizational transformation and ensure smooth implementation of operational improvements. Provide guidance and support to leaders and teams throughout the change process.Identify potential risks to operational efficiency and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Monitor risk factors and implement controls to minimize the impact of disruptions on business operations.Process Improvement and Quality Assurance:Assess existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall operational effectiveness.Collaborate with senior leaders and data partners to establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and ensure consistent service quality. Regularly review data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and potential risks and take proactive measures to address them.Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Partner with Quality & Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.Other Accountabilities:The role may require access to Personal Medical Information protected by multiple security and privacy regulations. Personnel are required to control this data in a manner outlined in the NMDP Information Security Policy and NMDP Donor and Patient Confidentiality SOP.Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Healthcare industry, operations and trendsCareer development, project management and business/management practicesStrategic execution and business process conceptsIndustry specific regulations, standards and best practicesAbility to:Lead and mentor teams to achieve operational excellence goalsCollaborate and influence at all levels of the organizationUse data to drive decision-makingManage a diverse team of functions and rolesDrive a results orientation utilizing strong problem-solving, decision-making and motivational skills to ensure alignment around KPIs and goalsBuild effective working relationships within an organization and with key stakeholdersEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in business, operations management and/or science or health care related field 10 years of demonstrated, progressive experience n business, operations management and/or science or health care related field can be substituted for the degree requirement2-4 years' experience in a leadership role with progressive leadership responsibility that included the management of professional, technical and administrative staff within an operations, medical or other service-related environmentDemonstrated experience leading large operational projects and influencing internal and external stakeholdersProficiency in relevant software tools and technologies (i.e. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, SalesForce, Jira, Looker)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)Master's or other advanced degreeRelevant certification (Six Sigma, Lean or Project Management)DEI COMMITMENT:As part of our values, we are committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion at NMDP.
