Description Position Summary: The Career Navigator provides services that may include career counseling and coaching, evaluation, transitional employment, employment and career readiness training, The Sr. Career Counselor supports other team members through active mentoring, coaching, problem-solving, and coordination of participant support services. Also serves as an MFIP Career Counselor providing individual case management coordination, case planning, monitoring of participant progress, coordination and facilitation of progress meetings as well as tracking and reporting individual and program activities. The position serves as an advocate for participants in MFIP programs; develops job opportunities for individuals and positive ongoing relationships with employers and referral sources; encourages the pursuit of career advancement/career laddering opportunities and ensures that accurate and timely fiscal information is tracked and reported to support program, department, and organizational goals. Day in the life: In a typical day, a Sr. Career Counselor can expect to... Individualized Career and Case Management Services : Provide employment and career advancement services to participants through ongoing case planning, individualized and personalized goal setting, feedback on progress toward goals, supports and follow up for making progress toward individual goals MFIP Mentoring, Coaching, and Problem-Solving: Ensure that other Career Counselors and MFIP team members receive ongoing support, through active troubleshooting, coaching and support. Case Management Coordination: Ensure comprehensive and optimal service delivery for all individuals by serving as the main contact and coordinator for the individual and cooperating partners, persons and/or agencies. Documentation: Complete and maintain essential documentation around the needs of the individual and services provided on a regular basis with clarity and timeliness Job Pay & Perks: Typical starting pay range: $28.30-$32.00 Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota prioritizes work-life balance. Opportunities for career development and advancement About You: Required Knowledge & Skills: Required: * Organizational skills * Ability to meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes * Adaptive and open to change and flexibility within job * Proven verbal and written communication skills * Capable of multi-tasking * Independent decision-making skills. * Experience successfully managing a case load * Knowledge of data privacy requirements and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information * Knowledge of disadvantaged and disability populations and funding systems. * Ability to work in a team environment * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and the ability to accurately enter data into computer-based systems. Preferred: * Public speaking ability. * Active involvement with professional organization Prior Experience & Education: 1-5 years relevant experience based on education (see below) and six months experience in a specified service position with GESMN and Active Career Development Plan with a focus on leadership, training or service delivery process improvement and meets or exceeds performance requirements for GESMN annual review.
