Position Overview

Our Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering team is expanding and seeking experienced several Structural Designers to support various market areas. In this role you will work with a team of engineers to develop BIM models for foundations, and steel structures for industrial facilities. Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC (Engineer Procure Construct) and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS, Lone Tree Colorado or Minneapolis Minnesota. Opportunities for flexible work are available and we offer relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development.

  • Gathers required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.

  • Leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, sections, details, and reports.

  • Assist in the development of department standards and tools.

  • Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 5+ years of structural design experience using Revit; or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 8 years of structural design experience using Revit

  • Demonstrates ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering design documents and vendor documents.

  • Displays leadership and confidence to monitor peers, especially those with less experience in drafting and design.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in written form.

  • Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, database, word processing programs

  • Experience with design build or EPC projects desired.

  • Experience designing foundations, platforms, piperacks, tanks and other related structures used in industrial, water or manufacturing facilities.

Base Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
