This role will serve as a critical member of the CV Portfolio Business Development & Strategy team and partner with cross-functional colleagues within the Cardiovascular Portfolio and CV Portfolio operating units to directly influence the strategic direction of the organization. You will contribute to and lead key strategic initiatives and inorganic opportunities that will accelerate our growth. You will help identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with third parties and take responsibility for structuring and executing partnerships, acquisitions, and licenses.

In this role you will help drive the overall alignment and prioritization of external opportunities with internal capabilities and vision as well as proactively identify companies and technologies to fill prioritized strategic and technical gaps. For CV Portfolio opportunities, this role will assist in the development of strategic integration direction and execution. This will require working cross functionally to drive recommendations and decisions within the organization by performing and presenting the integration strategic rationale, analysis, assessment, scenario planning, and financial projections.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead strategic initiatives that drive the organization forward.

  • Perform strategic, financial and analytical analysis and assessments on various growth opportunities, market and therapy landscaping, white space market entry or expansion opportunities, consistent to the strategic vision and direction of the enterprise and CV Portfolio

  • Perform strategic and market analysis for proposed initiatives, including assessment of strategic objectives and proposed strategic fit with those objectives.

  • Perform portfolio management assessments against desired outcomes and metrics

  • Draft and develop annual strategic plans, in coordination with enterprise process and in collaboration with each of the operating units within the CV Portfolio.

  • Develop financial and valuation models for transactions and identify/assess opportunities and risks including financial, operational, and integration related.

  • Partner with CV Portfolio leadership to identify strategic needs and potential target companies/technologies to address needs.

  • Manage operating unit cross-functional due diligence activities in partnership with Business Development and Corporate Development leadership.

  • Development of integration strategy, planning and execution, starting from the business case development via due diligence to execution and post-closing value capture, working closely with business development deal leads, and work with the cross-functional teams to prioritize and make recommendations and execute accordingly across the CV Portfolio

  • Establish, monitor and track transaction performance against value drivers, key performance indicators, milestones and metrics specific to each active CV Portfolio integration project.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 7 years of experience in a Finance, Upstream Marketing, Management Consulting, Business Development, Strategy, M&A

  • Or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5years of experience in a Finance, Upstream Marketing, Management Consulting, Business Development, Strategy, M&A

Nice to Have:

  • Medical Device industry experience

  • Masters or MBA

  • Consulting experience in top global consulting firm

  • Business “deal” experience (investment banking, private equity or venture capital)

  • Experience working with and presenting to all levels of management including business unit GMs, operating unit presidents, and portfolio presidents

  • Cross-functional team leadership experience

  • Technical experience with a focus on the medical device industry

  • Cross functional integration project management experience

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
