Your role:

  • The Pharmacy Director is responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Pharmacy Department (multi-campus)

  • Evaluates new pharmaceutical drugs, supplies, and equipment, and prepares written reports for senior Hospital management detailing findings. Makes recommendations for acquisition of new or additional pharmacy equipment and supplies.

  • Responsible for achieving established financial budget outcomes.

  • Develops and maintains a quality control program, ensuring department functions in accordance with all Hospital standards, government and accrediting agency regulations, and the like.

  • Selects, develops, and maintains a team of competent staff.

  • Holds self and team accountable for achieving the highest level of quality of care, customer service, and employee satisfaction, and recognizes the contribution for desired results.

Education: Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam. Residency, PharmD or Master’s degree in Pharmacy or Management preferred.

Licensure: Current Licensure as a Pharmacist by the State(s) of Indiana as required to complete essential job functions.

Experience: Must have a proficiency in the practice of pharmacy with an emphasis in supervisory/managerial skills, pharmacokinetic monitoring, nutritional consults, and drug information services that is usually obtained from graduation of an accredited college of pharmacy or passing of a pharmacy foreign equivalency examination and 4 to 6 years of hospital/institutional pharmacy practice experience. ASHP requirements must be met for the director of pharmacy overseeing the pharmacy residency program. 5+ years progressive hospital pharmacy leadership experience is required.
