The Canada Products team at Edward Jones Canada is responsible for the overall strategy, assessment, and support of investment and insurance products and advisory platforms on behalf of our branch teams and clients. The team works closely with other areas of the firm as well as outside vendors to build and deliver leading solutions that allow us to serve our ideal clients more deeply.

You will work cross-functionally to ensure the delivery of products, solutions, and information our branches need to attract and retain ideal clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct base-level analysis (features, benefits, price, performance, investment philosophy, risk, product fit, etc.) and make recommendations for product shelf and platform consideration

  • Provide subject matter expertise and interpretation of product/industry (internal and external sources) data, analysis, and identify impactful topics/themes

  • Work in a matrix environment to address the needs of several stakeholders as initiatives and projects arise

  • Support department with intermediate level expertise across various aspects of Product Management, including supply/demand, regulatory and risk management, innovation, product partner relationship management, and systems, tools, and processes.

  • Relationship management support in day-to-day interactions with various third-party product partners

  • Develop branch-facing content/communications and increase branch engagement with tools and resources

  • Interface with Branches, Service, and Operations and triage/manage issues as they arise as well as incorporate feedback into the delivery of better branch and client experiences with products/platforms

  • Develop and execute routine and proactive activities/strategies in execution of the business plan

  • Investigate feasibility of new products and platforms that address current and future client needs

  • Extract and assess data from internal and external sources to identify opportunities and mitigate risks

**This is a contract position for approximately 18 months. It is full-time hours at 40 hours per week during that time.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Advanced degree and/or financial services industry certification considered an asset

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) required within 6 months of hire

  • Has firm or financial industry experience (minimum 5 years in respective product or industry experience)

  • Experience with any of mutual funds, ETFs, insurance products, investment advisory products/platforms

  • Must possess strong personal initiative and interpersonal skills

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to create and deliver professional presentations internally and externally

  • Must be able to answer routine product questions on the spot

  • Must possess product/technical knowledge and understanding of current regulatory environment and/or other pertinent changes that affect the product lines supported

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Macros) and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with reporting software, industry tools and systems such as Morningstar Direct and Advisor Workstation, Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies and tools such as Oracle and SQL, and visualization tools such as Hyperion would be an asset

  • Data acumen - ability to transform data, draw insights, build concise stories from the data, and recommend relevant and impactful action to support business needs
