Job Summary

Reporting to our Director, Sales, our Regional Clinical Advisor – Hygiene & Accessories will lead our partnerships with IPAC and MDRD teams in hospitals across Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Focused mainly in Ontario and Quebec, this role will work closely with our sales team (Territory Managers and Customer Experience Reps) to develop new and existing relationships in the IPAC and MDRD space. The role will be responsible for creating awareness of our new Hygiene products for endoscopy cleaning and drying/storage, as well as business development for our growing endoscopy accessories line. This is a field-based role and will involve some cold calling on new customers to introduce Pentax to them and quickly develop credibility as an expert in IPAC and MDRD.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Educate and train current and potential customers and staff, becoming a trusted advisor in best practice and clinic use of PENTAX Hygiene products & accessories

  • Conduct market development activities in new and existing accounts; communicate relevant customer information to the appropriate sales team members, leading to future sales opportunities

  • Lead market development opportunities in targeted regional accounts increase PENTAX’s presence

  • Uncover unmet customer needs and product or process improvement opportunities, through hygiene and workflow assessments and bring that insight back to the business to help build customer-centric solutions

  • Research, compile and share current data on clinical best practices with respect to hospital/clinic hygiene and related products, innovative infection control practices and industry developments

  • Provide clinical support and expertise for projects, presentations, training, or activities which drive best practice and support sales objectives

  • Support the sales team with clinical expertise in preparation for sales calls

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of product-related sales presentations

  • Represent PENTAX in national, and regional trade shows and society meetings for the purpose of market development

  • Attend conferences, congresses, exhibitions, seminars, and workshops to maintain clinical knowledge and advances in hygiene best practices, and share with PENTAX Medical team

  • Attend CSA meetings to represent PENTAX and advance guidelines to support innovative solutions

Qualifications – Education, Experience, Skills, and Expertise

  • University Degree (preferably in Health or Medical Sciences)

  • Strong hospital and MDRD background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Healthcare industry (preferably significant/managerial experience in and understanding of Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR))

  • Expert in infection prevention and control; understanding of CSA guidelines, policies, and standards

  • Persistent attitude in identifying customer accounts and discovering customer needs and problems; ability and willingness to break new ground for PENTAX and expand our current footprint

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of hospital purchasing process and GPO influences on purchasing

  • Significant experience providing clinical training and education

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain a rapport and relationships with suppliers, customers, and team members

  • Strategic thinking and analytical ability

  • Ability to influence without authority and work as part of a team approach to customers

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow-up; thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy of work

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to resolve conflicts and problems

  • Advanced level user of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.; Salesforce.com experience preferred

  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be a definite asset

  • Able to travel for consecutive days of overnight travel within Canada and occasionally to the US for business meetings
