The brazing process is similar to soldering. Under direct supervision - responsible for various types of Brazing/soldering of copper piping together as part of the refrigerant or water plumbing system. Join pieces of metal together by first heating them. Braze finishing operations to specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Brazing/Soldering of copper tubing together at table and on/off assembly line Using nitrogen when brazing refrigerant system Use of Jigs to braze copper together Use of vortex tubes to cool key components in the brazing process Clean brazed joints of flux Check units for leaks if required MUST BE ABLE TO LEARN HOW TO USE HAND TORCH FOLLOW ALL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING PPE and TURNING OFF FLAME/torch WHEN AWAY FROM STATION Solder components Fit moldings to connect fittings and tubing (refrigerant and water) Use of brazing tools, cordless drill, various hand tools, and scissor table Must work safely and handle brazed parts that are still warm Prepare coil Principal Working Relationships: Reports directly to Brazing supervisor Interacts with all other personnel /team /assembly line as needed Must display a positive attitude, work together as a team respectfully and professionally in a team environment MUST BE HARD WORKING, MILD TEMPERAMENT, AND HONEST Communicates verbally in a clear, concise manner to express needs and ask questions Participates in meetings and safety training Work together as a team to meet project deadlines Must be flexible to work with other departments as needed to meet workload demands Must have an exemplary work ethic

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ Working Conditions/ENVIRONMENT:

Excellent Attendance and punctuality WHILE BEING DEPENDABLE, RESPONSIBLE, and arriving on time Good organizational and communication Skills Ability to maintain records accurately and follow directions Must Work well with others and get along as a team AND WORK WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS AS NEEDED Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. and possess physical strength for moving equipment and metal Must pay attention to detail and have good quality soldering to prevent leaks in the field Must be accurate, meticulous, and get things done in a timely matter Must be able to work with little supervision and keep up with the fast-paced production line Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and adhere to company DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE POLICY Must wear a minimum of SHADE 3 safety glasses at all times on production floor and follow all safety guidelines Comfortable doing repetitive tasks AND STANDING A MAJORITY OF THE SHIFT MUST BE ABLE TO BEND, LIFT, AND STAND ON A REPETITIVE BASIS MUST FOLLOW ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES/PROGRAMS SET FORTH BY THE COMPANY Position requires being on your feet and standing 95% of the time to fit moldings to connect fittings and tubing Experience in a manufacturing plant environment is a plus Must successfully pass pre-employment physical and meet physical requirements/demands of the job including grip strength, Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job Must be able to prioritize and organize work load to meet deadlines Good housekeeping skills to maintain a clean and organized work area to keep our entire facility clean Must be capable of performing the above essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation The entire shift will be inside conditions with protections from weather conditions There are moderate noise levels with tools and other shop noises

There are possible physical hazards in which there could be potential danger to health, or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, heavy parts, exposure to burns, exposure to explosives (gases), and torch flames.
