DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Toxicology Manager, you will provide guidance to PPG regarding toxicology matters with global accountability. You will direct and support PPG's' toxicology needs related to regulatory issues, customer requests, internal occupational health programs, remediation projects, litigation, sustainability, and product stewardship. You will have direct impact upon the development, sale, distribution, use and disposal of all PPG products globally. You will be a subject matter expert in PPG's Product Stewardship Community of Expertise (COE) and will engage with all PS COE teams including the Regulatory and Emerging Issues, Hazard Communication, and Food Contact to assist with regulatory matters on behalf of PPG.

You will report to the Global Manager, Toxicology.

Key Responsibilities  * Serve as a subject matter expert in toxicology. Be a study monitor on toxicology studies globally with responsibility to accomplish scientifically rigorous testing with efficiency and cost control. Develop testing strategies to support global registrations for PPG Businesses.  * Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party toxicology testing labs, in silico software providers, technical, regulatory, and legal consultants involved with toxicology issues. Ensure toxicology testing labs are certified according to PPG Standards. Identify, select and manage contracts for a variety of testing labs and consultants who provide toxicology support globally.  * Identify continuous improvement projects related to processes, tools, and information within the Toxicology Group and across the Product Stewardship organization.  * Work with the Sustainability organization to advise on the development for sustainable products. Execute and drive chemical management processes to educate and integrate toxicology into PPG S&T to aid sustainable product development.  * Partner with Advocacy and Government Affairs to advocate for regulatory decisions that are based on sound science and foster the innovation of sustainable solutions. Engage PPG Product Stewardship, Legal and Government Affairs team to address advocacy opportunities.

Qualifications  * Ph.D. in toxicological sciences.  * 5+ years of experience in toxicology field, Board certification preferred.  * Broad understanding of regulatory toxicology and risk assessment needs for the global operation of businesses.  * The ability to be recognized, internally and externally, for toxicology expertise. Keenly aware of new toxicology testing methods and trends to contribute to the business.  * A knowledge of PPG's multiple business activities globally.
