WSP USA Procurement Specialist - Human Resources and Professional services in Montreal, Quebec

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, HR and Professional Services, the Procurement Specialist, HR and Professional Services will support the procurement categories of HR and Professional Services in alignment with the defined category strategy.

The Procurement Specialist, HR and Professional Services will perform activities related to the purchasing of indirect goods and services, including the development of supplier strategies, the creation and launch of Request for Proposals (RFP), the analysis of proposals, awarding and implementing contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and working with internal and external stakeholders.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Serves as key contact for internal stakeholders in their area of responsibility while building effective relationships of mutual trust and understanding.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to identify and understand requirements, and reviews and analyzes their budget.

  • Supports the creation of scope of work documentation.

  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets spend data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and proactively communicates what the data conveys.

  • Creates opportunities to generate savings and improve supplier performance.

  • Manages supplier risks and relationships.

  • Participates in the bidding and tendering process and analyzes and assesses suppliers, as needed.

  • Provides advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of the procurement function to encourage innovative practices, achieves delivery of business outcomes and supports policy directions.

  • Maintains a positive, constructive, and collaborative working relationship with the team, business, and suppliers.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or similar field

  • 3 to 5 years of proven procurement experience

  • Previous experience with multi-national companies

  • Strong commercial acumen with proven category and contract management capabilities

  • Strong analytical capability

  • Strong communication skills in English and in French

  • Ability to influence and manage stakeholders

  • Effective time management and personal organizational skills

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office

  • Multiyear of procurement experience related to HR and Professional Services is an asset
