UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) Sr. Director, Product Management in Montreal, Quebec

UKG is looking for a Sr. Director of Products to lead our HCM Strategy. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation. Straddling the line between high-level strategy, people leadership, and hands-on execution, you are well versed in product and business strategy; capable of communicating deftly, and passionate about the importance of technology in solving complex business problems.

In this role, you will lead a team of Product Management professionals in deeply understanding the market, user needs, and competitive dynamics to define and deliver strategic roadmaps. Success requires collaborating with development partners and portfolio peers as well as internal and external stakeholders. With a product-led approach, you are a business leader responsible for helping drive sales, customer satisfaction, and service quality.

Qualified candidates are highly motivated, innovative, and solution-driven with experience in shaping cohesive strategies, engaging customers and prospects, collaborating with UX, and executing with speed. A proven track record of delivering results, dynamic presentation & story telling, and an inspiring leadership style are all key skills for the role.

Ideal candidates have experience in some aspect of the HCM industry and/or leading SaaS product management organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding the discipline of HCM from the top-down with a specific focus on Workforce Management & Scheduling.

• Analyzing overall market opportunity and accounting for strengths/weaknesses that address gaps, positioning, and buying process.

• Formulating and communicating high-level product portfolio strategy, ensuring that plans create the most compelling business solution while ensuring overall competitive positioning in the market and high-value solutions that truly solve customer problems.

• Ensuring that there is a comprehensive portfolio strategy aligned to our operational and organizational objectives

• Partnering with Engineering to plan, track and allocate resources across the Group to ensure that we can deliver on roadmap goals

• Exhibiting abundant imagination, but also ruthlessly prioritizing (saying “No” isn’t difficult for you)

• Focusing on process improvement and discipline of the “Business of Products”

• Leading and growing a team of Directors/Managers of Product and User Experience

• Being able to go deep into both functional/technical hurdles with engineers/architects as well as strategic discussions with executives.

Qualifications:

• 10-15+ years in Product Management at a technology-driven organization.

• A proven leader with a successful track record leading, coaching, and mentoring Product and User Experience teams.

• An analytical, metrics-driven thinker who is deeply empathetic and leads with a user-centered approach.

• An evangelist of how technology can unlock business value and customer experiences.

• History and reputation for listening to users, understanding their needs, and creating improvements to meet those needs.

• Strong track record of shaping and executing product strategy through portfolio roadmaps and tight collaboration with Engineering.

• Committed to collaboration and can work well with other business units to build iterative solutions that continuously deliver value.

• If no experience in HCM, you have a proven track record of entering a new space and building expertise rapidly.

• You are a firm believer in change and demonstrate a growth mindset.
