POSITION:

Entry Level Residential Glass Tech

To be a glazier, you must be physically fit. Glaziers are required to do heavy lifting and must often work outdoors. They must also be courageous and confident, as they are often required to complete jobs several stories in the air, and they regularly use ladders and scaffolds to complete work. This requires the ability to stand, sit, kneel and squat for prolonged periods.

High school diploma or equivalent Physical ability to lift heavy glass panels regularly Valid driver's license and clean DMV/MVR record Professional attitude and appearance Knowledge of building and construction-Not required but helpful Attention to detail Good communication skills Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations Basic knowledge of math Ability to work well with your hands No tools required to start

DUTIES:

Install glass where it's needed, using caution to ensure that the installation lasts for as long as possible Remove old pieces of glass from doors, windows, and displays Assembles, installs and repairs glass products and systems in commercial and residential buildings Likes to work outdoors and is comfortable with various weather conditions Enjoys getting their exercise on the job: lifting, carrying, transporting and installing glass. Candidates must be physically capable of performing work, in good health, with the ability to lift up to 50-100lbs. unassisted

  1. Thoroughly inspect job materials, ensuring the product(s) are the correct size & style, and that there is no obvious product damage or flaws on product(s) required to complete job(s)
  2. Load required job materials to installation vehicle(s), including redundant materials, tools, job folder/paperwork, safety equipment etc...
  3. Communicate to office AND customer if we'll be late for scheduled installation appointment
  4. Upon arrival at customers home, validate the work to be completed, the product(s) to be installed, installation location(s), and the estimated time it will take to complete the job, and customer expectations, and manage those expectations accordingly.
  5. Install all products and services included in the work order, troubleshoot, and strive to resolve any installation problems that might occur on-site
  6. If it's not possible to safely perform a quality service or installation on the date promised, effectively note all issues, and required materials necessary to complete the installation to the customers satisfaction at a later date.
  7. Communicate with relevant team members regarding incomplete work, ensuring that any new materials are ordered, the cause of the go-back can be discerned, and that customer expectations can be managed accordingly.
  8. Take care of the customer's home/business, ensuring we leave it cleaner than when we found it... use booties, etc...
  9. Close out the installation by walking customer through the care and maintenance of products, walk them through warranty (if applicable) and how to contact us if they ever need service or have additional questions.

WAGE:

The starting rate of pay is $18.00 per hour with no experience

Full-Time trade construction position with trade hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pm, or task completion Paid drive time Work schedule will vary p r season Seasonal overtime requirements for the position Long distance overnight stays with per diem
