MOUNT GILEAD EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOLS MS/HS Choir Teacher in Mount Gilead, Ohio

Job Title: Middle School/High School Choir Director Location: Mount Gilead Exempted Village Schools, Ohio Job Description: Mount Gilead Exempted Village Schools is looking for a creative and talented Middle School/High School Choir Director to lead our choral program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music education, have experience working with middle and high school students, and be dedicated to fostering a love of music in our school community. Responsibilities: - Direct and conduct middle school and high school choir ensembles, including preparing students for performances, concerts, and competitions - Develop choral curriculum and lesson plans that engage and challenge students of varying abilities - Teach music theory, sight-reading, vocal techniques, and ensemble skills - Organize and oversee choir rehearsals, performances, and special events - Collaborate with other music educators and school staff to promote a cohesive music program - Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student creativity, teamwork, and personal growth - Provide individual vocal instruction and support to students as needed - Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators about choir activities and student progress - Participate in professional development opportunities and school events as required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Choral Conducting, or related field (Master's degree preferred) - Valid Ohio teaching license with Music or Choral Music endorsement - Previous experience directing middle school and high school choir programs - Strong knowledge of vocal pedagogy, choral repertoire, and music education practices - Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a choral setting - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders - Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive music program Benefits: - Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications - Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plans - Professional development opportunities and support for continued learning - Creative and supportive work environment with opportunities for artistic expression To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume and any additional materials (such as recordings or videos of performances) to Clay Grube (Middle School Principal) at cgrube@mgschools.orgĀ  Mount Gilead Exempted Village Schools is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
