ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY/PT

Position Summary:

Maintains/updates the demographic/activities/evaluation database; general office support duties (answers phones, prepares mailings, etc.); budget maintenance (monitors expenses, projections of spending, processes payments, etc.); maintains/updates the project website. 

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED . Three years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to three years. Experience with Microsoft Word. Customer service experience. Organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to project a positive attitude. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results. Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintains budget records and expenditures, including SAP . Provides budget expenditure and projection reports to the Director. Assists with event planning as needed. Answers phone and directs requests to appropriate personnel. Maintains lending libraries. Maintains the web page. Monitors the web page for comments and requests. Duplicates and disseminates mailings. Types reports, brochures, and forms as requested by Director, Family Support Coordinator, and/or consultants. Maintains database for evaluation data, census data, and activities data. Database development. Compiles, prints, and organizes meeting materials for participants. Takes minutes at meetings (staff, Advisory Committee, etc.). Processes the annual census report for the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP ) and/or NCDB . Maintains secretarial procedures manual. Maintains timelink; bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll. Various other duties as requested/assigned by Director, Family Support Coordinator and/or consultants.

Pay Range: $14.50 - 21.33 per hour; estimated starting range $14.50 - 17.00

About the Department:

DB Central is a federal grant project housed at Central Michigan University. The grant is funded in five-year cycles through the United States Department of Education. DB Central provides training and consultation, disseminates information, and works to impact systems change. Services are provided to educational teams, including family members, who are supporting someone who is DeafBlind ages birth through twenty-six years of age.
