Amazon Analytics Specialist Solutions Architect in Mumbai, India

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems.

Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. As domain experts, SSAs also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field.

Analytics Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in analytics, business acumen, and technical sales skills. They are focused on supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and work closely with the teams that support implementation including AWS Professional Services and Partners. SSAs unblock customers and help them get to production faster. Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions focused skills of your team. You must enjoy learning and introducing new technologies in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new solutions. Furthermore, thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and considering the value technology creates for our customers, and helping to change how technology is viewed are important aspects of the role. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as services teams, field solutions architecture, sales, marketing, business development, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management. You should be passionate about helping companies/partners understand best practices for operating on AWS.

Here are some other qualities we are looking for:

Have a strong understanding of emerging technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a Solutions Architect or similar role and managing a team of Solutions Architects. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions.

About the team

The specialist team builds and executes go-to-market strategies which turn AWS ideas into multi-billion dollar businesses. Our team is comprised of specialists, sales specialists, and solutions architects who help define and execute go-to-market strategies for new and emerging services and solutions worldwide.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bengaluru, KA, IND | Gurugram, HR, IND | Mumbai, MH, IND

Basic Qualifications

  • 1) 8+ years of solutions architecture or equivalent experience.

  • 2) 8+ years experience within data and analytics with hands-on experience with distributed data processing 3) technologies such as Spark, Hive and/or Presto as well as stream processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark streaming or Flink.

  • 4) Good understanding of MPP database architectures

  • 5) Strong customer facing skills along with good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1) College/University degree or equivalent experience

  • 2) AWS expertise primarily familiarity with the AWS analytics stack would be nice to have but not a necessity.

  • 3) Understanding of application, server and network security, particularly as they relate to data security in the Analytics space.
