We establish and maintain the enterprise risk management framework that ensures the ability to consistently identify, measure, monitor, control and report material aggregate risks.

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Citi Commercial Bank – Credit Monitoring Officer - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Credit Officer - C13) based in Mumbai, India. The incumbent will be part of India Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) Independent Risk team with Credit Monitoring function, driving portfolio monitoring and maintaining a robust Credit Monitoring framework. The team is part of Citi Global Functions and partners with CCB Business Coverage and Credit Lending Management teams in their servicing of the Emerging and Mid-Market Corporate clients. CCB specializes in providing working capital finance, trade finance, treasury solutions and cash management services.

In this role, you’re expected to:

Work as Credit Monitoring Officer for Commercial Banking business encompassing proactive credit risk monitoring and other associated activities

Work closely with the Risk Heads and remaining accountable for critical updates and other management reports/ Management Information System (MIS) Report, assisting the Risk function with necessary inputs for enabling efficient risk management

Build and maintain a robust Credit Monitoring Framework with a view to ensuring proactive and effective monitoring and regulatory reporting, encompassing interplay of both credit risk managed within CCB and fraud risk managed by a separate unit

Actively provide policy inputs to the segmental and overall Risk Head(s) for ensuring adequate checks and balances in the policy and process notes

Decide and drive necessary portfolio reviews and stress tests towards credit risk monitoring and impact assessment of external/ macro-economic events

Participate in industry studies under the Global Industry initiatives

Lead the automation or tech-enablement efforts in respect of the overall Credit Monitoring framework

Exercise sound judgment while decisioning on various accounts, thereby ensuring appropriate classification of facilities and account strategy based on early warning signs and effective trigger management

Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensuring no material audit observations

Maintain a strong oversight on the activities outsourced to captive or external vendors

Keep abreast of regulatory developments, business trends and market sentiments.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications:

Professional degree holder with minimum 6-10 years of credit experience in wholesale lending.

Possesses strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to details

Sound understanding of cash, trade and derivative products. Good understanding of counterparty risk, market risk and its impact on credit decision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

Successful record in working and managing within matrix organizations across segments

Stays current with the dynamic demands of the environment and clients

Education:

Master of Business Administration (MBA); Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) accreditation
