Job Summary

Senior Process Safety / HSE Design Engineer with relevant experience in the LNG, FLNG, offshore, oil & gas, green hydrogen / ammonia, and petrochemical industry for performing process safety design activities in various phases of projects (viz., conceptual design, feasibility study, basic/FEED and detail engineering)

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring, scheduling, and organizing projects related activities of HSE / Process Safety engineering.

Kick Off meetings with Clients, Project Management Consultancy, Vendors and Internal Review Meetings, 3D-Model Review, Kick Off Meeting, Project Scheduling, etc.

Interaction with all other disciplines and issues regarding interfaces of work related to various discipline with HSE Engineering activities.

Liaison with regulator / statutory body related to approval, clearance and permission for feasibility of project.

Preparation of Detailed Design Deliverable of firefighting & loss prevention.

Checking / Preparation of fire water P&IDs for the ongoing detailed engineering projects / FEED package / proposal etc.

Fire Water network layout, Gas Detection System, Water Spray System, Sprinkler System, Fire Water Tank, Pump Calculation and fire water demand for firefighting. Fire water system water hammer / surge analysis.

Coordination & Review of third-party studies like QRA Study, HAZID Study, HAZOP Study, SIL Study, F&G Detector Mapping and Noise Study for the upcoming projects.

Hand on experience on software –Aspen Hysis, Aspen Flarenet, AFT Fathon & Impulse, DNV PHAST / SAFETI, SOUND PLAN / CadnaA, etc.

Electrical Hazardous area classification as per API, IEC and IP norms for all the projects.

Interaction and troubleshooting of various technical issues related to site with Clients, Project Management Consultancy, Licensor, Vendors, and Subcontractors and inter-department on various project related activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B. Tech in Chemical (Preferred) / Mechanical

  • Post qualification 8 - 16 years of relevant experience is essential.

  • Knowledge on local and international design standards like NFPA, OISD, IP, API, BS, DNV Class, etc., is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Typically a minimum of 8 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

Most positions - depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division - will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit* of such registration. Additional professional registration or licensure may be needed when practicing or on assignment in a different country. Exceptions may be approved by division management on a case by case basis.
