Rear Closure System Design&Release Engineer

Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position

  • Lead both the Design and Project Management components of rear closure systems across multiple vehicle programs to ensure quality, on-time and on-cost delivery to GPDS requirements.

  • Ensure robust delivery of rear closure systems design through to the physical build.

  • Own the PD elements of the APQP process and ensure proper communication with special characteristics, not only to lead launch suppliers and plants but to all sites and manufacturing locations.

  • Deliver design compatibility between all interfacing systems.

  • Manage the failure mode avoidance plan from quality history through to mass production and high time in service.

  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and prevent recurrences are included into the corporate knowledge base.

  • Connect with the global core teams for knowledge sharing and best practice development.

  • Adhere and uphold the corporate standards and codes of conduct.

  • Ensure that yourself and everyone around you works in a safe and inclusive manner.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree at engineering or vehicle engineering

  • Min. 5 years’ experience of closure system

  • Knowledge of rear closure system and their applications. Closure experience is must.

  • Possess clear presentation and communication skills

  • Be motivated, professional, proactive, and willing to join a close and collaborative team

  • Able to be flexible with their engineering knowledge, work on a variety of components and systems, and transfer their skills across applications

  • Able to plan and manage complex projects and delivery

  • Strong understanding of the Failure Mode Avoidance Principles and Processes

  • Detailed knowledge of the Ford Change Management processes

  • Able to lead the Team of 4 to align on estimates, costs, timing, and deliverables

  • Confident to raise issues, ideas, and innovations to improve our business and our products

  • High level of integrity in issue resolution, documentation, and communication

  • Able to hold oneself and others accountable for delivering the best solution for our customers and our business.

  • CATIA experience is preferable.

  • Knowledge of Ford standard systems (Tce, AIM, WERS, FSMS, FEDE etc)
