Position Overview: The Palliative Care Physician will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals with serious, life-limiting illnesses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive palliative care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert palliative care consultations and follow-up care to patients in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home care.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

  • Manage complex symptoms, including pain, nausea, and respiratory distress, to improve the quality of life for patients.

  • Facilitate discussions with patients and families regarding prognosis, goals of care, and advance care planning.

  • Educate and support healthcare providers, patients, and families about palliative care principles and practices.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and educational activities to advance the field of palliative care.

    Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.

  • Board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

  • Valid state medical license.

  • Demonstrated expertise in palliative care, pain management, and symptom control.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in palliative care.
