Naval Sea Systems Command ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in Naval Base Newport, Rhode Island

Summary You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the Vehicle Dynamics & Signature and Control Branch of the USW Weapons, Vehicles, and Defensive Systems Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. Responsibilities You will serve as the equipment specialist for prototype vehicle and/or weapon system programs located in the Vehicle Signature and Control Branch, Code 8514. You will support the development, maintenance, and upkeep of complicated underwater vehicles and subsystems. You will work seamlessly within a multi-functional team. You will manage equipment, logistics, security, and safely within the C851 Prototyping Laboratory space. You will support the testing of prototype and fleet systems in land-based laboratory as well as events on at-sea ranges. You will be responsible for oversight of all technical operations involving planning, monitoring and execution of prototype hardware development and test vehicles within the C851 B130 Prototype Laboratory. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NT-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading the development, maintenance or upkeep of underwater vehicles by managing equipment, logistics, security or safety for an organization. NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting the development, maintenance or upkeep of underwater vehicles by managing equipment, logistics, security or safety for an organization.
