United States Fleet Forces Command HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS) in Naval Shipyard, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS) in the Workers' Compensation Department of the Fleet Human Resources Office of FLEET HRO NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will counsel employees and provides follow-up services for employees who have submitted claims to the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP). You will resolve complex injury compensation issues through coordinated efforts with employees, supervisors, managers, OWCP, and attending physicians You will review injury data and analyze chargeback reports to identify injury trend and erroneous charges and initiate appropriate corrective action. You will develop and deliver FECA training to serviced commands to include supervisors, managers, and employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying the provisions of the FECA program sufficient to evaluate program trends, draw conclusions, and recommend actions. Experience counseling on retirement, health benefits, life insurance, and providing general support to employees, supervisors, and managers with personnel management theories, principles, laws, rules, regulations, and procedures sufficient to identify interrelated problems, draw conclusions, and recommend appropriate courses of action knowledge. Experience using HR personnel systems to appropriately code and process benefits actions, prepare retirement annuity estimates, and deposit/redeposit calculations. Experience preparing and presenting oral written findings and gain acceptance of difficult/sensitive corrective actions, and or develop and deliver program training.
