Wisconsin Public Service Plant Helper in Negaunee, Michigan

WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking aPlant Helper in our Kuester Generation Station inNegaunee, Michigan. This position will be ashift worker on a variable schedule. The schedule will rotate week to week between morning and afternoon shifts.

 

The company expects this position will be represented by a union. At this time the company plans to offer terms consistent with its contract with Local 420 but those terms may change if it is determined a different union represents employees in the position.

 

Job Summary

 

The Plant Helper provides support for plant activities and assists plant teams as directed by site supervision.

This position ensures continuous generation of electricity by operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment within design specifications, by using appropriate procedures and policies including safely analyzing, installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing plant equipment.

Perform duties as needed by site supervisiondependent on skill level and capability.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Technical Diploma in electrical, instrument, mechanical, or power plant related field

OR

2years of power plant operation experience plus a high school diploma or GED/HSED

OR

2 years of power plant or industrial maintenance experience plus a high school diploma or GED/HSED

OR

2years of related military education/training program plus high school diploma or GED/HSED
