We are looking for a Plant Manager at our New Albany, Indiana location.

  • You would be responsible for overseeing the general practices of the shop in all aspects from machining, assembly, fabrication, and maintenance.

  • Facilitate and run regular production meetings with all plant departments to discuss work load, scheduling and priorities.

  • Work closely with Director of HR and HR Assistant regarding all shop personnel issues and opportunities such as hiring, firing, and performance appraisal.

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our manufacturing facility in New Albany, IN. The Plant Manager will be responsible for leading a team of machinists, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure safe, efficient, and effective product manufacturing, exceptional customer satisfaction, and profitable business operations. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, and proven managerial skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the shop, overseeing all aspects of daily operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.

    • Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of skilled technicians and administrative staff. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth.

    • Workflow Management: Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes for manufactured products including scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management.

    • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all manufactured products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Implement quality control measures to uphold the highest level of quality and reliability.

    • Financial Management: Implement cost-saving measures to maximize profitability.

    • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices in workplace health and safety.

    • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and efficiency enhancements. Implement initiatives to optimize operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

    • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements to support business objectives.

    • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and performance metrics on key operational and financial indicators. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience considered.

    • Proven experience in a managerial role within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

    • In-depth knowledge of product manufacturing processes, techniques, and equipment.

    • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

    • Proficiency in financial management.

    • Familiarity with relevant regulations and safety standards.

    • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
