A postdoctoral fellow is sought for a project creating a life cycle assessment of a county waste management system. The candidate should have thorough knowledge of life cycle assessment modeling. The candidate should also have experience with inventory data collection, data quality and uncertainty analysis and robust interpretation of results. The candidate will take responsibility for an externally funded research project and serve as the key contact for external partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
The position has a minimum requirement of a Ph.D in a related field (environmental engineering or related engineering disciplines, environmental sciences or related natural sciences disciplines). Candidates should have experience in creating and running life cycle assessment and life cycle costing models.
Certifications/Licenses
Valid driver's license required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A working knowledge of python is necessary. Background in life cycle assessments of waste management systems, waste technologies, and circular economy solutions such as recovery, recycling and utilization is strongly preferred. Prior work with the Solid Waste Optimization Lifecycle Framework (SWOLF) and Brightway is also desired.
