Job Description: Project Description:
Conduct review of project drawings and narratives at Master Plan, Scope of Work, and various
Design phases for compliance with Fire, Code and ADA regulations, and provide comments
to ensure compliance with New York State Fire and Building codes as well as with
Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines ( "ADAAG "). Participate in field
inspections on an as-needed basis.

Description ofWork:
Under direction, candidate will review capital projects in all phases of the project life cycle
(predesign
through closeout phases) for compliance with State Fire and Building Codes
as well as Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Conduct review of project drawings and narratives atMaster Plan, Scope ofWork and various
Design phases for compliance with State Fire and Building codes as well as ADA
regulations and provide comments.
Attend design review meetings to ensure ADA regulations are incorporated into project
designs.
On occasion, conduct construction acceptance and/or maintenance inspections for Fire,
Code and ADA inspections for station and facility rehabilitations to ensure compliance with
State Fire and Building Codes as well as with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) standards and the contract documents.

Other Work Requirements
Must pass track safety training at NYC Transit, MetroNorth Railroad or Long Island Rail
Road, as needed
Must provide safety boots that meet requirements at no cost to the MTA
If offered to the consultant, must pass the NYS Code Enforcement Official Certification
class
OSHA-30-hour certification required before participating in work on or near the wayside.

Note: To protect all employees/consultants and to continue to provide safe and
reliable service to our communities, as of November 14, 2021, we are requiring all new
MTA (including their vendors) hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior
to their start dates. MTA and their Job Shopper vendors will consider exceptions for
religious and medical reasons, where appropriate. "Fully vaccinated means you must
have both doses of a 2-dose vaccine and two weeks have elapsed since the second dose
or have received 1 dose of a 1-dose vaccine and two weeks have elapsed since the dose.
Proof of your vaccination status in the form of a CDC vaccine card must be filed
with your employer/vendor prior to your start date.
Education Requirement: Associate Project Manager Level I (Code Compliance
Specialist or Accessibility Specialist)
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in an engineering, architecture, landscape
architecture, business administration or public administration AND one year's
experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent AND five years' experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its equivalent plus any combination of college
education and/or experience to make up the equivalent of FIVE YEARS EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE

Associate Project Manager Level II (Code Compliance
Specialist or Accessibility Specialist)
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in an engineering, architecture, landscape
architecture, business administration or public administration AND two years'
experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent AND six years' experience
OR
Four-year high school diploma or its equivalent plus any combination of college
education and/or experience to make up the equivalent of SIX YEARS EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Associate Project Manager Level I
Experience Requirements:
Experience in project management will be commensurate with level of education (see
above).
Minimum of one year's experience having served in a supervisory capacity OR
one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.
One year of experience will be given for:
o 30 semester credits of college education leading to a Bachelor's
o A Master's degree from one of the disciplines described in #10
o A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered
Architect

Associate Project Manager Level II
Experience Requirements:

Construction Management or Inspection Experience
Knowledge of MS Office Suite
Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday to Friday
No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours
(MTA C&D does not pay for lunch hours.)

80% Technical Functions, 20% Administrative Functions
60% Office Location, 40%Field Locations

Work Location: 2 Broadway, New York, NY, or as assigned throughout the MTA service
territory (such as 525 N Broadway White Plains, NY, 420 Lexington Ave. New York, NY, JCCLIRR
Yard, Jamaica, NY) and ability to telework
