HarperCollins Publishers Associate Sales Representative in New York, New York

Overview

HarperCollins Publishers is seeking an Associate Sales Representative for the Special Marketsdepartment. This position will be responsible for working with new and existing accounts to secure premium, promotional, and corporate sales for both adult and children’s titles to consumer-packaged goods, food and beverages, games, apparel, pharmaceuticals, communications providers, software, and financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with key accounts on a regular basis (in person and virtual) to sell new frontlist and backlist, obtain account news, highlight bulk opportunities, and gather feedback on account performance.

  • Work across departments to coordinate large reprints.

  • B2B outreach to corporations

  • Communicates with marketing and editorial departments to identify sales opportunities, account strategy and activities.

  • Research companies through trade journals and online sites for continued new business development.

  • Regularly run and analyze reports and other data to formulate sound business objectives and goals.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of publishing experience is desired. Preferably in Special Markets or Custom Publishing.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, follow up as needed, and meet strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

  • Attention to detail is required.

  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The salary for this position is $60,000-$65,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
