Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the Textile Manufacturing industry, located in New York, New York. The role involves maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, you will ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial details and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.

• Perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

• Maintain records by making copies, filing documents, and posting transactions on the company’s accounting system.

• Accomplish the organization’s goals by completing related tasks as needed.

• Support detailed audits and controls within the department.

• Update and maintain the general ledger.

• Preparation of weekly sales order reports.

• Handling some light HR/Operational Management duties.

• Work closely with the accountant and assist with any additional administrative tasks.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably in textile manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience in performing bank reconciliations

• Proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records and data entry

• Ability to use Microsoft Excel for financial reporting, data analysis and budgeting

• Experience in performing month end close activities

• Knowledge of payroll systems and processes

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks for financial management and reporting

• Basic bookkeeping skills are essential

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is desirable

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
