MasterCard International Incorporated Data Engineer II in New York, New York

Position Duties: Assist with data pulls and development of reports/dashboards to support fraud analyses and development of fraud reduction solutions. Assist with the analysis and investigation of fraud data and overall payment system integrity reporting requests to understand fraud patterns and support analysis needs for the development of proposals to prevent, detect, reduce, or recover fraud losses. Support the development of tools and methodologies to proactively identify new fraud trends, as new payment transaction types and new technologies are introduced and gain momentum, and with the education of various stakeholders on the meaning of the identified fraud trends and recommendations. Assist with the evaluation of new software and tools to enhance the look and feel of fraud reports. Research and staying current on advances in technology to identify internal opportunities for improvement. Write basic technical documentation, such as business continuity, project plans, white papers, etc.Job Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related and two (2) years of experience in job offered or as a Programmer Analyst, System Test Engineer, Principal Consultant, Solution Architect or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience. Qualifying experience must include at least one (1) year with each of the following: SQL for querying various data platforms, such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server; Writing queries, joins, explaining performance and understanding basic concepts of performance tuning; Distributed computing systems: Hadoop, Spark; Impala and Hive: good knowledge of SQL-like interface to extract data from the storage components HDFS or Hbase; Python: Jupyter Notebooks, basic programming concepts, and data structures; Tableau dashboards connected to multiple data sources, permission management, publishing workbooks to the Tableau Server for larger audience, and creating custom automated reports; MS Excel (pivot tables, OLAP cubes), OneNote, Outlook, Power Point; Unix / Linux platforms (including command line, shell scripting), Microsoft BI stack (including DAX and PowerPivot), and/or Webfocus. Minimum Salary: 163238 Maximum Salary: 176000 Salary Unit: Yearly
