Per Diem Nurse - Float Urgent Care Center/Clinical Decision Unit/Symptom Care Clinic

MSK is looking for an exceptional clinical nurse with strong critical thinking skills to join our team. The UCC/CDU/SCC units provide urgent and comprehensive patient-centered care to MSKCC’S patients 7 days a week. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to, admit, discharge or transfer a patient to another level of care regionally or in NYC.

Role Overview:

  • Implement the nursing process for medical and surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in our UCC/CDU/SCC.

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care.

  • Provide exceptional patient centered care to our patients and unregistered patients.

  • Deliver care to employees who are injured on the premises.

    Key Qualifications:

  • Current NY and NJ RN license/registration

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN)

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical medical/surgical, oncology or emergency room experience required.

  • BCLS and ACLS Certification

  • National certification highly preferred

    Core Skills:

  • An experienced clinical nurse with experience in Oncology, Med/Surg, or Emergency Room Nursing

  • A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that maintain high standards of nursing care within the organization.

  • Approachable – someone who is comfortable with diverse groups of people. Someone who goes above and beyond for their patients.

  • Approachable and comfortable with diverse groups of people and able to make others comfortable with you.

  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.

  • Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

    Additional Information:

  • Location: Flex between NY and NJ UCC/CDU/SCC Sites

  • Schedule: Vary Day, Night, or Evening shifts available (7:30AM-8PM, 7:30PM-8AM, 12PM-12:30AM)

    Pay Range $79.00/hr
