Position Overview:

Our client is the Commercial Real Estate Finance group within the investment bank of a premier European-based global financial services institution located in New York City. Their real estate group is consistently ranked among the top-10 global and US real estate lenders, and they consistently look to grow their platform and expand into new products.

About Securitized Products:

Our client’s Securitized Products team delivers integrated & innovative strategies to help meet the unique capital and investment needs of our clients across the securitization spectrum including financial institutions, sponsors, state-owned institutions, insurers, asset managers, funds, and corporates. Securitized Products is a client focused market making business, dealing in Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Agency and Non-Agency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage Back Securities Index (CMBX) and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) Secondary Trading. Securitized Products also has a significant financing footprint, with desks which is focused on providing clients with longer term financing solutions across a range of assets and jurisdictions (including loan portfolios and securitizations, bridge loans, warehouse loans and repo facilities).

Overall purpose of role:

The Securitized Products Business Management team is looking to hire a Business Manager at the Vice President corporate grade to support the US based Securitized Products businesses.

The role will be providing operating leverage and critical business support for the US Securitized Products business, spanning across the spectrum of Origination, Financing and Trading. Additionally, as a trusted partner and representative of the US based business, the business manager would be a critical representative and face-off to multiple partners including Trading, Sales, Origination, and various Infrastructure areas on a range of multi-faceted issues.

In addition, there is also a clear focus on supporting various project initiatives. These would entail supporting senior business managers with Business Reviews, various other asset class specific programs of work based on business needs through to regulatory deliverables. The business manager would be required to be involved in regular daily activities of supporting the steady operation of the business in a well-controlled framework.

The seat will provide operating leverage to the respective trading desk heads in supporting strategic and sound business decision-making, assistance in business plan creation, key performance indicator tracking and future strategy of the business across relevant markets, regions, and sectors while continually working with our infrastructure groups on key initiatives

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide operating leverage to the respective trading desk heads and individual originators and traders as well as the Securitized Products Business Management team, supporting decision making, growth, risk, and control framework.

  • Act as a liaison with the asset class aligned infrastructure teams to ensure interlock objectives and deliverables.

  • Work closely with the global business management teams and central functions to understand wider priorities, and driving global efforts such as quarterly and annual stress exercises, while effectively adding value to our control agenda through input into the annual Risk and Control Assessments and Conflicts register etc.

  • Represent the business whilst liaising with other functions and clusters of the firm on BAU matters as well as strategic priorities, risk and control initiatives, remediation efforts.

  • Maintain the governance structure for the business.

  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership

  • The role requires a dynamic communication across the Trading and Sales desks, as well as with internal partners spanning across Risk, Middle Office, Finance and Technology.

  • Collaborate proactively with the global Business Management team and stakeholders across functions.

  • Work with 1st line counterparts as well as 2nd and 3rd line Functions to implement business, regulatory and risk and control agenda for respective businesses.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business

  • 5-7+ years’ experience in a financial services firm or institution

  • Securitized Products experience is preferred

  • Business Management / COO experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of operational flows and process.

  • Good Presentation Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well

  • Team player with great upside potential

  • Works well in matrixed environment

  • Can communicate effectively with all levels of leadership (both up and down)

  • Change agent, able to pivot to ever-changing priorities.

The annual full time base salary range for this role is ($175,000 - $225,000). Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
