McGraw Hill is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Compliance to join our Risk & Compliance team.

How can you make an impact?
The Senior Associate of Compliance will work with the VP of Risk & Compliance to ensure the continued development, implementation, and management of the company's business continuity plans and records management program. This team is part of a broader compliance and legal department that serves the MH business units across the world and works in a supportive, cross-functional environment.

The ideal candidate will have a background in business continuity or records management, and IT disaster recovery, along with excellent emotional intelligence to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics with empathy and understanding. We're looking for someone with a high level of communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information in a concise and convincing manner and the leadership ability to inspire cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. You will be working collaboratively with stakeholders across departments to ensure cohesive implementation of plans. To be successful in this role, you must address challenges with a strategic and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and demonstrate resilience in a dynamic environment.

This position can work remotely from a home office in the United States or from one of our MH offices. Candidates must permanently reside within the United States to be considered for this position.

What you will be doing:
Business Continuity Planning:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's business continuity plans.
  • Guide business groups with Risk Assessments of critical business processes and dependencies.
  • Support groups in their development and documentation of recovery strategies and workarounds for business interruptions.
  • Coordinate and conduct business continuity exercises and testing.
  • Ensure all business units have up-to-date continuity plans and understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure alignment between business continuity plans and IT disaster recovery plans.

Records Management:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive records management program.
  • Establish policies and procedures for the lifecycle management of records, including retention, storage, retrieval, and disposal.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for compliant storage, management and removal of business records and information.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements for records management.
  • Conduct audits to ensure records management practices are followed consistently.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business continuity and records management activities.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of business continuity and records management initiatives.
  • Support training and awareness programs for employees on business continuity and records management.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and or records management.
  • Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery principles and best practices.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and/or business impact analyses.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

The pay range for this position is between $62,000-$80,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
