Wolters Kluwer Senior Legal Specialist - Legal Operations Process and Technology in New York, New York

The legal operations process and technology specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the processes and technologies that support the legal department's operations and strategic goals. The specialist will report to the Director of Legal Operations and work closely with the General Counsel and legal and compliance team to identify, evaluate, and deploy technology and process improvement solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of workflows, technology and tools that support the legal and compliance team's activities, such as commercial contract negotiation and management, matter management, e-billing, document management, knowledge management, and litigation reporting.

  • Collaborate with the procurement, IT and legal organization in identifying the desired functionality, selecting, procuring, deploying, and administering legal software.

  • Provide training, support, and troubleshooting for the legal and compliance team and other users of the legal systems and data.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in legal operations and technology.

  • Manage relationships and contracts with external vendors and service providers.

  • Facilitate and champion the department’s Knowledge Management system and assist in the transformation of “KnowledgeLink” to a legal hub – i.e., the one location where legal colleagues can go to access all of the information and tools they need to effectively do their jobs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in legal operations for a law firm or in-house law department.

  • Deep understanding of legal technology, process management, and knowledge management, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment.

  • Knowledge of the legal industry, processes, and functions, and the technologies and solutions that support them.

  • Track record of successfully managing and delivering cross-functional projects, from inception to completion.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

  • Analytical, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to solve problems creatively and efficiently.

  • Familiarity with project management, process improvement, and change management methodologies and tools.

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $112,000-$156,650
