The Sr. Network Reliability Engineer will work within a dedicated team tasked with improving the availability, reliability, and scalability of NBC’s global network infrastructure. Responsibilities include: implement operational toolsets, develop network configuration improvements, and provide critical capacity planning to ensure network redundancy, load, latency, and monitoring are managed across all NBC’s network ecosystems (backbone, cloud, Internet, campus, content). 100% Telecommuting permitted.   • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).

  •  

  • The position requires 4 years of professional experience in network engineering or network-centric software development.

  •  

  • The position also requires at least 4 years of professional experience in each of the following:

     

  • Implementing commercial or opensource network monitoring and operational tools;

  • High availability network designs and associate protocols, including Dual-ISP, first-hop redundancy, geo-diverse failover, and cloud regionality/availability zones;

  • Network connection protocols, including NetFlow, Syslog, and Model Driven Telemetry;

  • Network automation and version control tools, including Ansible and Git, to deploy networks at scale;

  • API and understanding API architecture and security practices; (6) Developing automation code with Python, CSS, and JavaScript; and

  • Programming and software security and encryption best practices.

Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000
