Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in New York. This role involves assisting our team with various financial tasks such as processing bills/invoices, managing AR aging reports, cash applications, and journal entries. The role is within a non-profit organization and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Process bills/invoices in a timely and accurate manner

• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports to keep track of outstanding debts

• Handle cash applications to ensure correct allocation of funds

• Conduct cash analysis and reconciliations to verify the source and proper coding/application of funds

• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions

• Assist in the Month End Close process to finalize financial records for the month

• Conduct account analysis to review and verify the accuracy of accounting records

• Use Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of a Staff Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory

• Should be adept in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Must have experience in handling General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close is required

• Must be able to generate Aging Reports and perform Account Analysis

• Experience in Cash Applications is necessary

• Proficiency in the use of Sage Intacct is required

• Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
