A Brief Overview

Instructional Designer-ECC is responsible for developing effective training, both ILT and ELearning, for staff and leaders at the Enterprise Contact Center (ECC). This is achieved through proper assessment, planning, development, delivery, and support of Electronic Health Record (EHR) - EPIC and technology education in partnership with various stakeholders. This role develops training material and manages training knowledge base to ensure robust and in-depth training for users. This role also assesses the impact and scale of each training campaign to optimize and improve each iteration.

What you will do

  • Collaborates with business partners to identify appropriate training approach and strategy.

  • Serves as ECC Training Team’s liaison for external departments.

  • Develops Training & Education for both new hires and continuous growth for existing ECC employees.

  • Assesses, designs, develops, and maintains training/education storyboards, documents, materials, and files.

  • Supports achievement of target educational goals for various departments, projects, or employees.

  • Develops e-Learning modules using authoring software (Articulate or similar software).

  • Ensures the learning management system is utilized to it’s fullest potential.

  • Liaises closely with other department trainers, educators,and Subject Matter Experts to ensure delivery of effective and accurate training collateral to impacted users.

  • Collaborates with the ECC Training Team, business leads, other stakeholders, and management in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs.

  • Integrates knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and guidelines into educational programming.

  • Develops detailed curriculum for EPIC related training and other programs using appropriate technology to create and deliver trainings

  • Supports, assesses, develops, and delivers communication to target audiences regarding complex system changes.

  • Validates training curriculum and training materials.

  • Assesses the effectiveness of the training programs, making improvements as necessary.

  • Provides EPIC/Technology product updates and optimization trainings.

  • Supports maintenance of HealthStream Education knowledge base content for ECC.

  • Serves as a backup trainer for ECC Training Team by leading and managing training sessions when required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies, Adult Learning, or other related degree

  • Master’s degree is preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Instructional design experience, preferably in a healthcare or contact center setting

  • Prior EPIC experience is preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; write in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Understands complex verbal or written instructions.

  • Well organized and systematic in work processes, possess collaboration skills; ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to problem solve real-time either individually or collaboratively with a group.

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work under the pressure of upcoming schedule or necessary decisions.

  • Ability to make assignments and share decision-making with team members as appropriate.

  • Ability to lead, exercising strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.

  • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and individual contributor.

  • Familiar with various online training development tools (Captivate, Camtasia or Articulate)

  • Proven experience with e-learning authoring tools and Learning management systems

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills

  • Experience in leadership training is highly advantageous.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $41.25 - $53.63 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
