SUMMARY

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates learning opportunities for LTC employees in order to promote quality patient care and to enhance wellness, and on-going growth and development of LTC staff. Provides leadership for the long term care educators.

DeMay Living Center, connected to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is a 180 bed skilled nursing facility providing 24-hour care to people and their families in need of rehabilitative, complex post-acute, transitional, neurobehavioral and long term care. We also provide a safe, comforting setting for people experiencing symptoms of dementia.

DEPARTMENT: Long Term Care

SCHEDULE: Days

ATTRIBUTES
  • Master's preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of LTC or Acute Care experience with at least one year education/ teaching experience.
  • Previous educator experience desired, preferably in LTC, Adult Learning and curriculum development, and preferably in a clinical/health related capacity.
  • Knowledge of both the clinical and technical aspects of electronic information systems essential.
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identifies, develops, and validates specific strategies to meet the learning needs of LTC Employees.
  • Data sources will be: needs assessments, Healthstream Learning Reports, leadership, performance improvement results, customer surveys, regulatory inspection results, data from external sources including benchmarks and course evaluation results.
  • Develops, implements, and/or facilitates educational programs which meet the learning needs of staff and promotes staff retention, quality health care, employee growth, and personal wellness. Participates in New Employee Orientation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
