Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate individual to join our team as an Industrial Electrical Controls Instructor. This role will involve teaching and training individuals in the fields of electrical controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and industrial electricity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, along with practical experience in industrial settings. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans and training materials covering topics such as electrical controls, PLC programming, motor controls, and industrial electricity. Conduct hands-on training sessions in a classroom or lab environment, utilizing equipment and tools commonly found in industrial settings. Provide guidance and support to students as they work through practical exercises and projects to reinforce learning objectives. Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and practical assessments, providing feedback to aid in their development. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and changes in regulations related to electrical controls and industrial electricity. Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve curriculum content and instructional methods. Assist in the setup and maintenance of training equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. Offer mentorship and guidance to students interested in pursuing careers in electrical engineering or related fields. Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of relevant subject matter. Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our educational programs. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience working with electrical controls, PLCs, and industrial electricity in a professional setting. Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagram, structured text) and experience with PLC hardware and software (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens). Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment. Experience developing instructional materials and delivering training sessions to diverse audiences preferred. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations governing electrical systems and industrial equipment. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping others succeed in their educational and career goals. Willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the industry and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into curriculum design and delivery.
