Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This National Guard position is for a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN TITLE 32 PERMANENT, Position Description Number D1720000 and is part of the NH 157th Medical Group, National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection. Responsibilities As a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN TITLE 32 PERMANENT, GS-0640-8, you will plan, schedule, execute, manage, and administer the installation-wide Industrial Hygiene/Bioenvironmental Engineering Program (IH/BEE), which includes occupational health/industrial hygiene, radiation safety, and environmental monitoring to maintain and promote the health and well-being of military and technician personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Military Grades: E4 to E6 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade. Compatible Military Assignments: 4B0X1 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to the health care delivery system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-08) - Must have one year of education, experience or training at the next lower grade (GS-07). Experience involved in performing or assisting with a varied range of health or bioenvironmental activities. Experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems. Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems. Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs. Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity. Experience in performing support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Must have experience and knowledge in the methods and techniques of the position to be filled. It is not necessary for applicants to possess the MOS/AFSC listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however applicant must meet the qualifications for the position. It is applicant's responsibility to acquire a compatible MOS/AFSC within 1 year of appointment. Coordinate with your unit's training representative to determine whether or not you can qualify for a specific MOS/AFSC and/or receive training within the 1 year timeframe before accepting the position.
